I never wanted to be a typical Accountant. The rumour was that Accountants were said to be grey and boring, I wanted to be different from the start.
In fact, I wanted to be a Doctor.
The accountancy direction never ever entered my mind. It was not until my elder brother audited my exam results that he noticed that my strength lay in numbers.
I was thereafter redirected onto the path of numbers and figures, which I actually loved.
After qualifying I worked for an Audit company performing internal and external audits, Risk assessments & Corporate Governance. I did a lot of travelling.
I then went on my journey as a Consultant for many years after that for different top notch organisations.
I also steadily built my client base on the side. For some strange reason I had a thirst for tax. I found it very interesting.
How and Why ‘Zlogg’?
Zlogg was initially imlanted in my mind over 10 years ago when I was at one of my CPD meetings with my Accountant Brethren.
In the break there was a stand and a company promoting online accounting and at that time I thought to myself ”…why not me?…”
Well…that acorn lay dormant in my head until an appropriate name suddenly popped in my head.
It evolved from the word ‘log’.
We logged our expenses, log this down, kept a log of it…etc ..indeed that word was not sexy enough.
So I added an extra ‘g’ which still didn’t look too great, so I simply added the ‘Z’ in front…thus the name Zlogg was born. It was different and didn’t mean anything …just the way I wanted it.
It was not until years down the line that I formulated the plan to actually put Zlogg into action.
You see, ideas are great but doesn’t move you anywhere. It was not until I firmly committed with myself and took positive forward actions did anything actually occur.
Oh…and the financial opportunity arose
