Zlogg Accounting Features Explained
As a modern day business owner you want things now. Things are moving at such a pace that people do not have the patience any longer.
“…I want it…and I want it now…!!….”
Accountants usually have to wait until the year end to know how your business is doing. By then any action would be reactive as nothing can be done with the past information.
Cloud Accounting
This is why the Cloud Accounting feature is very useful. Accountants or Bookkeepers can access your up to date information in real time which means they can be more proactive for you and your business. They become more of an Adviser which is what you expect from your Accountant.
This is one of the first things I wanted to change with my own clients and one of the primary features I wanted to implement.
The thought of me thinking…”..If only I knew about that some time ago…I could have done something about it back then….!!…” puts me in a weak position. I didn’t want that for me or you.
This is why this important feature was integral to the development of any service I launched.
Mobile
In addition to the above….
As more and more people start working for themselves, I found that most do not have traditional rented business premises anymore.
They can and do work from where ever they please. Usually this may preferably be a coffee premises which offers wifi.
This next feature complemented the benefits of Cloud Accounting in that it enabled you to access your business data not only from your desktop at home but from anywhere you please as long as there is an internet connection.
The use of mobiles is at an all time high because people are always on the go and still wish to communicate with each other.
Therefore the ability to access your data with any device made perfect sense with our mobile capabilities feature.
Accountants can also access your data anytime, anyplace, everywhere as long as they have access to the internet from any device they have available.
For me, this was a god send. I can and do look at my clients’ details whilst on a train or in a hotel room. I have even been known to have a quick peak whilst waiting to board a plane.
Capture Receipts
Being mobile also means you may spend money on business items whilst out and about.
What that means for the Accountant is that they will deal with a lot of small receipts.
For example, teas, coffees and sandwiches.
Sometimes these receipts cannot be read for a variety of reasons. Some might be crumpled others may have tea or coffee stains others may have the ink faded and cannot be read.
No problems.
You can now easily take a photo from your camera of the receipt and upload that image to your account. No more faded ink, no more stains.
I liked this feature because now clients’ wallets and purses do not have to bulge with unnecessary stuffed and crumpled worn out receipts.
Snap, upload and go.
Security
I realised that people are obsessed with how their data is being used and Accountants are wary about the protection of their clients personal and business details.
This is why I insisted on high security of the data.
Slipping into techie language, the data is encrypted from end to end. SSL Certificate etc….information is backed up regularly.
Banking
Another important aspect of the features is the ability to upload your bank account into the software.
The ability to do this saves a lot of Accountants processing time with your bookkeeping as well as saving you money because just a simple reconciliation routine is required to transfer the business details from the bank statement into your Zlogg account.
Submissions to HMRC
I wanted to touch on one more feature that I really wanted to be included in my product and that is the ability to submit both your VAT and Self Assessment Tax Returns directly to the HMRC.
This will save the Accountant time and the added expense of perhaps purchasing another software system.
There is not a list of the combinations of problems that I may encounter with the release of this product that will simulate the users’ experience.
Therefore…
I want to promise you that:
- Fix bugs as quickly as possible
- Handle support requests quickly
- Listen to feedback
- Steadily improve the product & service
- Release new features
This is my baby and I want to see it grow.
